Thanks for visiting and taking a moment to learn more about our new venture. My name is Jon Troen and I am the managing partner of Catchfire Media, a social media strategy and consulting firm based in Des Moines, Iowa. The firm was co-founded by Nathan Kring and myself in August of 2009.
The Catchfire story
The idea for Catchfire arose while Nate and I were working with clients at our printing companies, Rock Communications and Colorfx. As we worked with customers to develop and deploy their message in print, we began to notice that the conversation about social media’s place in marketing and advertising was beginning to change. When you brought up social media two years ago, the conversation centered on “Why should I care?” Today the conversation has shifted from “Why should I care?” to “How do I do this?”
Our commitment to meet the needs of our clients goes without question, so when they started to ask about social media, we looked for a way to help. Upon identifying key talent in the region that was capable of helping us achieve this goal, we moved without hesitation to acquire the means and resources necessary to support our clients. And thus, Catchfire was born.
Social media is real and here
The notion that social media is a passing fad is no longer viable. As organizations focus on determining how to take advantage of this new means of communication, Catchfire is ready to assist in all aspects of the space, from strategy development and execution, to best practices, tracking, and comprehensive analysis.
Many organizations are seeing or hearing about how their customers are using social media, but they are either unaware of the effects it is having on their business or unsure of how to join the conversation. Others are interested in social media, but are looking for help in aligning their efforts with their overall business and marketing strategy. There are also businesses actively engaged in this space, but they may need help measuring the impact their efforts are making and tracking the results. Catchfire can partner with clients to address all of these situations.
The core focus of our team is to provide comprehensive social media strategy, analysis, and support for your organization. This involves helping you listen to market trends, training you and your staff on how to engage with customers online, and assisting you in building a trustworthy reputation on the web.
Where to go from here
If you are looking for a partner that can help you understand social media and how to leverage it in your organization, Catchfire can help.
If you are a professional working in social media, keep reading our blog (subscribe via RSS or by email). As Catchfire continues to heat up, the blog will be a regular space for our team to share their insights and best practices.
In either case, the entire Catchfire team is looking forward to growing this relationship with our community. Whether you’re on the front lines or in the executive suite, you’ve all got something to add to the conversation and we are excited to learn from you.
